Our Woman Of Kindness Church, found in Colva, may be a colonial church established in 1630. It was prior known as Nossa Senhora de Merces. The church houses a statue of newborn child Jesus Christ which is accepted to be found on the Mozambique coast by Fr Bento Ferreira who brought it to Goa and introduced it within the church in 1648.
